Parasailing FAQ

Anyone age 5 and up can fly. Participants under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian sign their liability waiver prior to boarding the vessel. Minimum weight required to parasail alone is roughly 150 pounds. The maximum weight for one person is 300 lbs.  If the flyer is less than 150 pounds, they will need to fly tandem with someone else, not to exceed approximately 450-500 lbs pounds combined weight. Our licensed captains use their expertise and knowledge based on the wind conditions to make the final decisions.

The prices are all per person. You can choose to fly tandem or triple, but the price is still per person. All multi-passenger flights are side by side offering great views and comfort on the adventure.  Flying tandem and triple is based on the combined weight of participants and will always be at the Captain’s discretion based on the winds. We always do our best to accommodate your requests, but safety is our number one priority. When you fly tandem or triple, you get increased time in the air.

Bathing suits, shorts, T’s, and flip-flops. Please don’t bring anything along that you don’t want to get wet!

Our custom-built parasail boats will allow a smooth and easy takeoff and landing. Each parasailer will slowly lift off the back of the boat from the sitting position with ease, as you enjoy the ride in a comfortable swing-like harness. Each parasailer will land on the back of the boat in the sitting position. A dip in the water is optional but recommended! However, you will always take off and land from the boat. Occasionally we have to conduct a water landing if there is a mechanical problem.  This rarely happens, but like any other vessel, things occasionally malfunction. We will give you instructions on this when you board the boat.  The water landing will be similar to the dip, you will be lowered into the water. Our shuttle boat or main boat will then come and get you.  Life jackets are mandatory, so you will float until our boat arrives.

It is possible, but not guaranteed.  Parasailers have first priority for a spot on the boat. However, as long as we have available room,  your friends and family may come along to take part in the fun. There are only 6 available spots per 1/2 hour, so space is limited.

It is highly recommended that everyone in you party be able to swim.  All takeoffs and landings are done from the back of the boat. In the unlikely event of a mechanical malfunction, all participants are required to wear lifejackets while parasailing. Anyone can fly including the young, old, and someone with special needs. We are happy to safely accommodate everyone.

Yes. We offer a photo service from the boat utilizing a high-quality camera. You can purchase a digital chip of up to 30 high resolution shots of you and your family’s entire adventure!  Take the photos home on an SD card and put them on your computer, then the SD card is yours to reuse!  This photo service is available for $30.

Our vessels and equipment are inspected daily and kept to very specific mechanical standards. In the unlikely event of a mechanical malfunction, the participants are gently lowered into the water (life-jackets are mandatory) and retrieved by another vessel in our fleet immediately. Guest safety is our number one priority.

Although reservations are not required, they are recommended.  Parasailing reservation times are approximate due to changes in wind and water conditions during the day.  You will need to be 30 minutes early for your reservation, and we will do our very best to get you out on the water as close to your reservation time as possible. We encourage reservations because of parasailing’s popularity and the limited space available.  We will take a credit card to hold your reservation.  No-shows will be charged full price.  You must call us to cancel your reservation.  Walk-up guests are welcome, but there is often a wait time, especially during peak season (March-August).  If Estero Island Parasail is unable to accommodate customers due to unfavorable parasailing weather we will reschedule or refund accordingly. Please also note that you must be on time for your reservation and that we cannot always re-accommodate you if you are late.

The line is designed to withstand 6,000 pounds of pressure. The average parasail ride only produces 800 pounds. It is very uncommon for the line to break. If the line should break, the parachute will slowly and gently bring the parasailers to the water. The parachute is designed to land in the water behind the parasailers, not on top of them. Your life jackets will allow you to comfortably float as the boat will immediately pick you back up.
